Smartphones have come with advanced technology over the years, but battery capacity hasn’t improved. Phones over 5,000 mAh are still rare. That’s why the phones are only used for two days after being fully charged.
30,000 mAh big smartphone battery
Redditor Downtown_Cranberry44 showed off his Samsung Galaxy A32 5G with a 30,000mAh battery. Samsung’s 2021 flagship phone sells for less than $200 and is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery. Now, a Redditor has modified it to have six times the original battery capacity.
To do this, I removed the original battery and installed a battery pack with 6 Samsung 50E cells. Therefore, the total battery capacity is 30,000 mAh, and if fully charged, it can be used for more than a week. The phone does not recognize the external battery pack and only shows the original battery capacity. The battery level is also not displayed correctly and only shows 1 percent. But the 30,000 mAh battery does the job.
A 30,000mAh battery has improved the battery life, but there are some drawbacks. The phone is thick and weighs over 1 pound, more than twice its original weight. Also, it takes about 7 hours to fully charge the phone.
The phone is equipped with multiple charging ports and supports USB Type-C, Apple Lightning, and MicroUSB ports. Also, because it has reverse fast charging, it can be used as a 30,000 mAh power bank that can charge other phones.
Now, while innovation is impressive, it’s not for everyone. It can be said that it is a fun project for phone experts.
